God really can reveal things to you in the simplest ways. I was sitting outside a few weeks ago on my lunch hour enjoying the beautiful weather.  As I sat there, I noticed the large amounts of dandelions all over my yard. As I was looking at all of them, a gust of wind came and the white parts of the flower began blowing all over the place. It truly amazes me how nature works together to reproduce and multiply everything.
The dandelion’s flower is the base and is designed to be strong and rooted in good soil and is not shaken by the wind but the seeds on the other hand are barely hanging onto the flower, waiting and relying on the smallest gust of wind to take it to new soil. If the wind doesn’t come, the flowers cannot reproduce.
I know most of us when we look at a dandelion we see a weed; just another nuisance in our yard. But as I looked at all those dandelions that day, God reminded me of what our lives should look like in Him.
God is our base where we grow & learn. It is strong and sturdy and does not move in the toughest conditions. We on the other hand are the little seeds at the top of the flower that are fragile and easily tousled when the winds pick up. But the more we are in God’s word and are relying on him, we begin to understand the purpose for that tousle and we are ready for it.
The wind comes so we can spread His LOVE and His Word to others. We are to obey his calling on our lives and go out into our communities to teach and spread his Love everywhere God asks us to. He wants us to take our seeds and invest and really push the seeds deep into the ground so they grow and his word can become strong and steady and can create new life.
The Seed is the word of God.
– Luke 8:11

We are the seed…….We are God’s word.

When people see us, they should see Him. When we decide to be followers of Christ, our first job is dive into the word and get to know it….know Him. Start to model our life around his principles. Learn how God can use our lives to change others.
We are the very vessels that God needs. He designed us perfectly for the task he has given us. We are an important part to His process. You may think that God can’t use you because of your past or the sin that you still have in your life. But God can use your situation to help someone else. Your failure is HIS fertilizer. A single seed planted in faith can do more than you think. Allow God to speak life to others THROUGH your circumstances. Your very struggle you overcame could give someone else hope while they are still in their current situation.
Billy and I truly believe that is why we faced our trials the first year of our marriage. Not only did the struggle strengthen our relationship, but it gave us a story to give hope to those currently walking in a marriage struggle. We just have to be ready and willing to allow God to use our shortcomings.
God needs us to be ready to move when he speaks. That is why we have to spend time in His word. Know it and be able to share it at a moments notice. You never know when and where God is going to use you. So we are to stay rooted in his base, taking in all the knowledge he has for us, so we are ready to move when the wind comes.
The more we know about the word, the more God will move us to different places either within your community or into other communities. And that is what all Christians are supposed to do. In Matthew 28:18-20 it says: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.
So lets live today like a dandelion, staying strong in God’s word with a heart of thanksgiving and joy, ready to spread His truth to others when God calls us to.
“Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.”
– Colossians‬ ‭2:7‬ ‭NLT‬‬
